April and City of Doms
A couple of years ago while looking for a way to promote a friend's clothing line. I came across a show called City of Doms. I immediately fell in love with this show. But not only that I was in awe of it's energy and I knew I wanted to be a part of this experience.
Here is the sad part. Up until that time, June of 2015, I had never seen a stud dancer. I had been to a strip club twice and couldn't stand all the slimy testosterone flowing back and forth, it wasn't enjoyable, it was just gross. So I was intrigued as to what City of Doms would be like. Now you have to imagine I live in Rhode Island, and to my knowledge there was nothing like this in New England. Plus watching the videos of previous shows, I was struck by the personable flow of the show and dancers. So I went to my first show in July of 2015. It was called City of Doms - Tag Team and it was just that, lovely tag team dancers. There had been a slight mixup with my ticket. But the way Cameo and his staff handled it, I felt like I was treated like family.
The show was incredible and everyone there made me feel real comfortable. My original reason for being there fell through but I still had a good time. One of the interesting aspects of the show is that you pay up front $5 to use the camera on your phone. It was something I had never experienced. During the show, Cameo, the host and charging force behind City of Doms, shouts out to us to post our best videos on Instagram and #CityofDoms. I tried posting a few. Prior to that day, I had barely my IG account. But the next day when I got home, that all changed. Because of the hashtagging, my posts were being seen and liked by other City of Doms fans, dancers and staff. I started getting followed by some of these awesome fans and it was amazing sensation. I felt like I was hobnobbing with celebrities. When @Erica_kane started following me, I was in heaven and a little bit moist as well.
Back then clips could only be 15 seconds or less on IG. So I became frustrated trying to put longer clips up. I went to a couple of more. City of Doms became my "getaway" destination. The ease of riding a train to New York Penn and hopping on the subway to the Bronx was part of the excitement. But it meant turning into a pumpkin at 1pm to get on the subway back to Penn Station for the 2:40am train home. Then I got the idea of getting a room. It was awesome. The first room I got was in the same hotel as the City of Dom crew and my room was right across the hall from Ms. Erica Kane herself.
Again I went home with videos and memories of a wonderful sensual night with City of Doms. Early 2016, I knew I had to do something with all this video. There were only so many posts I could do on IG. That's when I came up with the idea of a Youtube show about Stud Dancers. Of course Addicted 2 Stud is somewhat of a misnomer because we also get into the Fem side of the dancing. But our love is always with the studs, which is why we expanded to include interviews with Studs in the community. It's added a interesting side to the show.
